Sunrisers Hyderabad, already struggling with their batting this season, faces another setback as leg-spinner Adam Zampa has been ruled out due to injury. The franchise has signed Smaran Ravichandran as his Replacement.
Announcing the replacement, IPL Media release stated that Sunrisers Hyderabad named Smaran Ravichandran as the replacement for the injured Adam Zampa. “The left-handed batter, who plays for Karnataka in Domestic Cricket, joins SRH for INR 30 Lakh,”. Further, Sunrisers Hyderabad made it official and posted the news of Ravichandran Joining the team for the ongoing IPL 2025 Season. “Welcome aboard, Smaran. He joins our squad as the replacement of Adam Zampa, who is ruled out due to injury,” SRH said in their social media post.

Who is Smaran Ravichandran?
Smaran is a 21-year-old left-handed batsman who has been roped in as a replacement for Zampa. He hails from Karnataka and has several cricketing stints in his domestic cricket career. He found a major breakthrough in the CK Nayudu Trophy, where he scored 829 runs, and also impressed in the Maharaja T20 as well as across formats for Karnataka. Ravichandran scored 302 runs for Gulbarga Mystics in the 2024 Maharaja T20 and boasts stellar domestic stats, including a 64.50 average in first-class and 72.16 in List A.

Smaran has played seven first-class games in which he has scored over 500 runs at an average of 64.50, including a double century against Punjab. He has also played 10 List A games since his debut in 2024, scoring 433 runs at an average of 72.16, with two hundreds, while he has scored 170 runs in six T20 matches at a strike rate of 170.
