Tamil Nadu Premier League is an annual men’s T20 cricket league organised and managed by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. Featuring a total of eight competitive domestic teams, the league follows a round-robin group format followed by playoffs. Launched in the year 2016, TNPL has grown into a major cricketing event in the state, with players later being picked in the major leagues. Set to inaugurate on June 5, the league will follow a month of entertainment before concluding on July 6, 2025. 

The league has successfully completed its eight season and TNCA is set to inaugurate from June 5 with an opening clash between Dindigul Dragons and Lyca Kovai Kings at Coimbatore. With just a few weeks to go before the tournament kicks off, the TNCA has officially released the complete squad details, player list, and schedule for the upcoming edition. The 2025 edition of the TNPL will feature eight teams: Chepauk Super Gillies, Dindigul Dragons, Lyca Kovai Kings, IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, Nellai Royal Kings, Trichy Grand Cholas, Siechem Madurai Panthers, and Salem Spartans.

Each team boasts a dynamic mix of seasoned campaigners and emerging stars. With experienced players like Ravichandran Ashwin, Varun Chakravarthy, Washington Sundar, and Sai Sudharsan, the season will also feature rising local talents. Lyca Kovai Kings include the IPL star champion, Sai Sudharsan, and Shah Rukh Khan, while Tiruppur features key players like Sai Kishore. The most expensive player of the season was M Mohammad(18.4 Lakh), who was picked up by Salem Spartans, followed by Vijay Shankar, who was bought by Chepauk Super Gillies(18 Lakh). Each team has a combination of youngsters and experienced heads, which makes the upcoming season more exciting.
