The match 64 marked a spectacular innings from the Lucknow Super Giants, facing the Gujarat Titans, at Narendra Modi Stadium. The LSG overseas batter brought an explosive innings to the field, giving the team the kind of start, middle, and end to the innings that the team sought. Winning the toss, Shubman Gill led side opted to field first and invited the visitors to bat first.

Opening the innings for LSG, Mitchell Marsh delivered an incredible performance for the team, smashing his maiden IPL Century and the first by any overseas batter this season. Mitchell Marsh has been outstanding in IPL 2025, scoring 543 runs in 12 matches with an average of 49.36 and a strike rate of 160.65, including 6 half-centuries and 1 century. Playing against GT in match 64, he not only brought his maiden century of the season but also helped the team to post a total of 212 in 18.2 overs.

The special century moment unfolded in the 17th over, when Mitchell smashed his first century to a delivery of Arshad Khan. He scored his highest total of the season, with just 56 balls, and later took his innings to 117 for 64 balls before getting dismissed in the 19th over.

Mitchell played one of the most commanding knocks of the IPL and ended up with a breathtaking 117 off just 64 balls. The landmark moment came in the 17th over, at 16.5, when he tapped a back-of-length delivery from Arshad Khan into the gap at point. Reaching the milestone, Marsh simply raised his bat, smiled, and acknowledged the dugout with a thumbs-up without any theatrics, and just simple class.

Just when he was off to his highest total, his superb knock ended in the 19th over when he was dismissed by Arshad Khan. Facing Khan in the 19th over(18.2), Marsh attempted a loft wide-length delivery over the side, but he missed it and ended it straight to Rutherford in the deep. Attempting a century with 10 fours and 8 sixes, Marsh’s innings was complemented by Nicholas Pooran’s half-century. With contributions from Marsh, Pooran, and Aiden Markram, LSG posted the season’s highest score in front of the Gujarat Titans.
