South Africa officially announced their 15-man squad on Tuesday, 13 May. The Team is set to play the WTC Final against Australia at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground from June 11 to 15. Temba Bavuma will lead the Proteas against the Pet Cummins Australia side in the World Test Championship Final.

The squad for the upcoming tour was announced in a fun and creative way by Captain Temba Bavuma. In a video shared by CSA, Bavuma announced the players while donning the customary skipper blazer.

Tony de Zorzi, Ryan Rickelton, and Aiden Markram make up the top order batting options, whereas rising star Tristan Stubbs, David Bedingham, and Bavuma will hold fort in the middle order. Kyle Verreynne will be an electric presence behind the stumps and lower down the order, and all-rounders Wiaan Mulder and Marco Jansen can also contribute with the bat.

Mulder and Jansen will be joined by ace pacer Kagiso Rabada, Ngidi, Dane Paterson and Corbin Bosch to frame up the fast-bowling lineup. Tweaker Keshav Maharaj will be the face of the spin resources alongside Senuran Muthusamy.

“We’ve built a strong red-ball setup,” Head coach Shukri Conrad

Head coach Shukri Conrad expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness for English conditions. “This is a proud moment for the team. We’ve built a strong red-ball setup over the past 18 months, and making it to the WTC final is a significant achievement. We’ve kept faith in the core group of players who have contributed throughout the cycle and selected a well-balanced squad suited for Lord’s.”

Temba Bavuma will be leading the side in what will be their first-ever WTC Final, set to begin on June 11 at Lord’s. The Proteas made it to the summit clash after finishing at the top of the WTC standings with a point percentage of 69.44. South Africa has stuck with their core squad for the WTC Final, making just two changes from the side that faced Pakistan. Youngster Kwena Maphaka has been left out to make room for the returning Lungi Ngidi, while Matthew Breetzke also misses out.
