In an extraordinary display of power hitting, RCB IPL Star player Romario Shephers has stunned fans in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2025 match between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St. Lucia Kings. The match took place at the St. Lucia Ground on August 26, 2025. Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first. Romario Shepherd came to the crease at number seven alongside Iftikhar Ahmed. Shepherd played a fast-paced innings, scoring an unbeaten 73 runs off just 34 balls, including seven sixes and five fours. The incident unfolded on the third ball of the 15th over. Thomas first bowled a no-ball, which yielded no runs. The following delivery was a wide one, keeping the free hit in play. Shepherd capitalized on the next two no-ball deliveries, hitting consecutive sixes. When Thomas finally bowled a legal ball, Shepherd hit it for a towering six as well. This sequence of NB1, WB1, NB6, NB6, and B6 added up to 22 runs off a single legal delivery. The over itself ended with a total of 33 runs, as Iftikhar Ahmed added another six.

Despite Shepherd’s extraordinary effort, Guyana Amazon Warriors posted 202 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Key contributions also came from Shai Hope(23 Runs) and Ben McDermott (30 Runs) while Keemi Paul took wickets for Guyana. St. Lucia Kings, chasing 203, got off to a shaky start but recovered strongly thanks to Tim Seifert and Ackee Auguste. Auguste played a match-winning knock of 73 runs off 35 deliveries, hitting four sixes and six fours. The Kings achieved the target in 18.1 overs, winning by four wickets with 11 balls to spare.

This victory placed St Lucia Kings second in the points table, just one point behind Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. While Guyana fell short, Romario Shepherd’s performance remains a historic moment in CPL 2025, showing the impact a single player can have in a T20 match.
