After five-time winners Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals in match no. 63 of the IPL 2025 to secure their place in the playoffs, a unique moment caught everyone’s attention. Team owner Nita Ambani was seen sanitising Jasprit Bumrah’s hand before shaking it, and the video quickly went viral on social media.

As the COVID-19 cases are rising in India, Nita Ambani reminded MI players and everyone else to follow the protocols and take precautions. After MI secured a spot in the playoffs by defeating DC in the home game, Nita Ambani uses sanitizer on the hands of Jasprit Bumrah before shaking it. Bumrah smiled and followed Ambani’s request, joining the celebration only after sanitising his hands.
Notably, COVID-19 cases are on the sudden rise in India, and everyone needs to take precautions to stay safe. As of 22 May, there is a total of 257 active cases in India according to government data. Maharashtra has reported 44 cases, Tamil Nadu 34, and Kerala 69. Other affected states include Karnataka, Gujarat, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Sikkim.

Mumbai Indians qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs, defeating Delhi Capitals
Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 59 runs in match no. 63 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, to qualify for the playoffs. While batting first, MI put up a total of 180 in 20 overs thanks to an amazing innings of Suryakumar Yadav. The right-handed batter smashed an unbeaten 73 off just 43 balls, including 7 fours and 4 sixes. New finisher of the team, Naman Dhir, played a crucial knock of unbeaten 24 runs off just 8 balls, including 2 sixes and 2 fours.
MI’s bowling has been outstanding this season, and they proved it once again in a crucial match by bowling out Delhi Capitals for just 121 runs. Their strong performance helped MI secure a comfortable 59-run victory. Mitchell Santner and Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets each, while Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, and Karn Sharma also got one wicket each.
