England Batter has pulled out from his IPL deal with Delhi Capitals and following the decision he now could face a two year ban. Following BCCI Rules and regulations the international player is expected to face the 2 year ban from the league.
It is the second time that Harry Brook has pulled out himself from the Indian Premier league after being picked at the auction, his constant behavior also puts question to his future participation in the league. In the IPL Mega auction, Delhi Capitals has begged Harry for a purse amount of 6.25 cr.
Why the Future Ban of 2 years?
As per the regulations released by the BCCI last year, any foreign player who voluntarily withdraws from the season after being picked by the franchise in auction will face IPL Suspension for the next two seasons, until and unless they are going through some injury.
“Any [overseas] player who registers for [an] auction and, after getting picked at the auction, makes himself unavailable before the start of the season will get banned from participating in the IPL/IPL auction for two seasons,” the BCCI document read.
Citing the same rule, Harry Brooke’s decision to opt out before the 2025 IPL Season puts his IPL future in Jeopardy. This means that Harry Brooke will not be able to play in the IPL for any franchise till 2027. Earlier this season, Brooke also pulled out for the IPL last year following his Grandmother’s Death.
