Punjab Kings were set to face Delhi Capitals at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala but fate had different plans for the teams. The toss for match 58 of the ongoing IPL was set to take place at 7:00 PM, but before the toss could start, it started raining and now the toss has been delayed until the rain stops further. The ground has been under covers and it is expected that the match will begin shortly.

Delhi Capitals kickstarted their campaign with four consecutive wins but they’ve lost the momentum after that with just 2 wins in their next 6 matches. It’s fair to say that they got lucky in their previous outing as rain played spoilsport after they could muster just 133 while batting first. They suffered a collapse (29/5) against SRH losing their top five cheaply. It’s #3 vs #5. Punjab Kings come into this match on the back of two successive wins. They notched up a massive 37-run win against Lucknow Super Giants in their last outing here at the same venue in Dharamsala. A win tonight will take them to the top of the table and guarantee them a spot in the playoffs. Two teams that are separated by just two points and are in the top half of the points table will face off against each other today at a picturesque venue.

Current weather situation at the HPCA Dharamsala Stadium!

As per the weather prediction of the day, it was expected that the rain would hamper the match. The rain started slowly before, and covers were on the field with a delay in the toss. But at present, the rain is steady, and all are waiting for the match to restart. Luckily, the stadium has been revamped recently and boasts a great drainage system. So once the rain stops, the match will restart within 20-30 minutes.
