Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma were seen playing pickleball during a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team bonding event, held ahead of their upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Lucknow. Many other players also enjoyed this fun and fast-growing sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis.

Teams often organise these fun events for players and support staff to build bonding among teammates and keep them entertained and stress-free in this highly competitive league.

RCB shared an Instagram post on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, featuring Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma enjoying a game of pickleball during the team’s bonding event. Additionally, some other players like Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Liam Livingstone, Romario Shepherd, Suyash Sharma, and Yash Dayal.

What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is a fun and fast-growing paddle sport that was first played in 1965 in the U.S. This game combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is played on a small court with a net like a badminton court. Players use the paddle and a plastic ball with holes to play as singles and doubles.

RCB is set to clash with SRH in Lucknow 

Royal Challengers Bangalore is set to take odds with Sunrisers Hyderabad in match no. 65 of the IPL 2025 on May 23 at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. RCB, led by Rajat Patidar, is already qualified for the playoffs with 17 points in 12 matches, while SRH has been eliminated from the top 4 race with only four wins in 12 games.

Now, RCB with players like Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Romario Shepherd, and Tim David will aim to finish in the top 2. On the other hand, SRH featuring names like Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klassen, Pat Cummins, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Ishan Kishan will look to finish the season on a high.
