Facing RCB at the Ekana stadium in the last league stage match of the ongoing IPL 2025. Rishabh Pant brought his maiden IPL Century this season. Pant struggled throughout the season and has been mocked for his sluggish innings and consecutive duck-outs. Having been eliminated from the League, the team showcased total brilliance on the field.
It was a completely different team on the field today and especially the skipper Rishabh Pant. Batting first, Pant made a strategic move by promoting himself to the number three spot. After Breetzke’s dismissal in the third over, Pant came to the crease and quickly steadied the innings, taking charge of the slipping innings after the early dismissal of Breetzke.
He looked confident from the start, timed the ball beautifully, and mixed power with smart shot selection. He reached his half-century in just 29 balls—this was only his second 50+ score of the season, and later he went on to hit his maiden IPL century of this season, and all came at the same stadium in Lucknow. Building on innings from the 3rd over, Rishabh remained unbeaten throughout the match and scored his first century in a unique way. He smashed his century in just 54 balls and later finished the inning unbeaten at 118*61.

Reaching his century in the 18th over, Pant smashed it for a boundary on Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s delivery, making the total 100 off 55 deliveries. He celebrated by doing a somersault. The LSG team and the crowd in Lucknow cheered loudly. Bhuvneshwar bowled a fuller ball, wide outside the off stump. Pant reached out and managed to hit the ball just right. It bounced once before going over the boundary for four runs.
He led the innings from start to end and went to the pavilion with 118 and a happy face. Scoring a Century today, he brought his Second IPL hundred after his 128* (63) against SRH at Delhi in the 2018 IPL. 54 balls is also the fastest hundred by an LSG batter.
