Watch: Ambati Rayudu Reacts to MS Dhoni Leading CSK in IPL 2025

Ambati Rayudu expressed his joy over Thala’s appointment as captain and said that he is happy to see MS Dhoni return to leadership. MS Dhoni has been appointed as CSK captain and will face Kolkata Knight Riders on April at their home ground, Chepauk. Dhoni will now lead the CSK squad for the rest of IPL 2025 as the current captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, has been ruled out due to an elbow fracture.

Fleming confirmed the development. “Ruturaj Gaikwad ruled out of IPL with fracture on elbow. MS Dhoni to take over as captain,” Fleming told media persons on Thursday.

Ambati Rayudu expressed his joy with Thala’s appointment and told ESPN that he is immensely happy about  MS Dhoni’s return as captain and also hoped that he will bring out his magic and will weave another success story. 

“First of all it’s very sad that Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the IPL,” Rayudu said in a video posted by ESPNCricinfo.

“But all the fans will be definitely extremely excited to see MS Dhoni lead CSK again. He can always pull out his magic and make CSK qualify from here. It will be one great story. 

“I am very, very excited and I hope that he weaves his magic all over the CSK team.”

Talking to ESPN, he also expressed his concerns over Ruturaj and said, “First of all, it’s very sad that Ruturaj, the captain of CSK, has been ruled out of the IPL. But all the fans will definitely be extremely excited to see MS Dhoni lead CSK again. He can always pull out his magic and make CSK qualify from here. It will be one great story. So, I am very, very excited and I just hope that he weaves his magic all over the CSK team,”

Rayudu feels that Dhoni can produce his magic and make CSK qualify for the playoffs from here. The former Indian cricketer feels that it will be a great story. Dhoni last led the team in the year 2023 and lifted the IPL 2023 trophy.
