Facing the Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Thursday. Royal Challengers Bengaluru made it to the final of the Indian Premier League after a gap of 9 years and last made it to the final in 2016. Winning the toss, Rajat Patidar opted to bowl first and asked Punjab Kings to open the innings for today’s match. Prabhsimran and Priyansh Arya opened for Punjab Kings, whereas Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened the bowling attack for RCB on the other end.

Punjab Kings posted just 101 runs in the first innings and fell short to RCB’s bowling, with the whole team back in the pavilion. Nothing went right for Punjab Kings. Lost the toss, inserted to bat, lost both the openers cheaply, Hazlewood accounted for Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis, and then Suyash Sharma ripped through the middle and lower order with three wickets. RCB openers started confidently, going after Arshdeep with aggressive shots. Jamieson bowled a great second over, getting Virat Kohli out and making things tough for Mayank Agarwal. But in his next over, Salt and Agarwal hit him for 21 runs. The duo built a strong partnership, adding 50 runs together. Salt reached his fifty in just 23 balls. Agarwal got out after hitting a few boundaries, and then RCB captain Rajat Patidar finished the match by scoring the winning runs.
