Royal Challengers hosted Rajasthan Royals at the M Chinnaswamy Bengaluru on Thursday, 24 April. Winning the toss, Rajasthan invited the home team to play first.
Talking of the teams in this season so far, the home team has been exceptional in away matches but has performed poorly at their own home turf. Meanwhile, visitors from Jaipur are struggling to even maintain consistent innings and have faced back to back defeats in their recent outings, losing the last two in close contests.
Announcing the changes to the Playing XI, Rajat led side went with no change in the team, where the visitors announced one change, Fazalhaq Farooqi has replaced Maheesh Theekshana. Sanju Samson, the key figure and the skipper, still remains out of the squad and is recovering from the injury he sustained during a match against Delhi Capitals.
Captain’s Thoughts for RCB vs RR
Rajat Patidar: We would have loved to bowl first as well, the surface has been tricky and unpredictable this season and we will try to adapt as quickly as we can. We have to be good at shot-selection. We are going with the same team.
Riyan Parag: We will bowl first. The wicket looks a bit sticky and should get better later on. It’s back to our ethics now, if we can give our 100 percent, the results will take care of themselves. Sanju (Samson) bhai is recovering and hopefully he will be back soon. One change for us. Theekshana is out and Farooqi is in.
