Josh Hazlewood has been the most successful bowler for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and also in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Facing Chennai Super Kings at their home ground, Chinnaswamy, Bengaluru, Rajat Patidar announced that Josh Hazlewood will not be part of today’s playing XI and Lungi Ngidi will come in his place in the Playing XI.
The reason why the Australian quick was left out of the squad wasn’t revealed by Rajat Patidar, but it seems as the management has decided to provide their star bowler some rest before the playoffs actually begin.
Later in the commentary session, Harsha Bhogle mentioned that Josh Hazlewood had missed the match due to a shoulder niggle. The player who has been in impressive form has picked up 18 wickets in 10 matches. Josh Hazlewood has often had to deal with injuries during his career. He missed the Champions Trophy before the IPL because of a hip problem, and earlier, he had a calf injury too. RCB fans will be hoping his current issue doesn’t get worse. On the other hand, this could be a great chance for Lungi Ngidi to show what he can do.
RCB is currently placed in the third place in the table and with a win here they have a chance to get back to the top of the table. Whereas the five time champions have had a poor season and they have been eliminated from the playoffs. They are currently placed in the bottom of the table and are just playing for pride.
