Punjab Kings name Kyle Jamieson as a replacement for the injured Lockie Ferguson

Punjab Kings (PBKS) have picked Kyle Jamieson as a replacement for Lockie Ferguson, who is ruled out of the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to a hamstring injury. The right-arm Kiwi pacer will join PBKS for INR 2 Crore.
Led by Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings are currently sitting at the 3rd position in the points table with a total of 15 points. The team needs just one out of their remaining three games to qualify for the playoffs.

On May 15, 2025, Punjab Kings announced that Kyle Jamieson will replace the injured Lockie Ferguson. Both players are from New Zealand, and Jamieson is expected to boost the team’s bowling strength.
Lockie Ferguson, who got injured after bowling just a couple of deliveries in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, has now been ruled out of the rest of IPL 2025. Before his injury, he had taken 5 wickets in the season.
30-year-old Kyle Jamieson is replacing Ferguson in the PBKS squad. The pacer has played a total of 9 matches in IPL for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, taking 9 wickets with an average of 29.88 and an economy of 9.60.
