PBKS IPL 2025 Opener: Coach Brad Haddin makes shocking revelation about the Punjab Opener Batting position

The Indian Premier League is underway and has had great thrilling clashes so far and now is ready for another clash between GT and PBKS. Gujarat Titans will face the Punjab kings in the match 5 of the IPL 2025, the match is scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on 25 March 2025 in Ahmedabad. As the teams are gearing for their opener match, PBKS is still not sure of their opening batting duo. 

The team has sweated adaptively in the net practices but still not sure of their best batting options for the PBKS IPL Opener match, reveals Assistant Coach Brad Haddin. During a pre match conference, Haddin talked of the difficulties for the team and admitted that difficulty of determining the best opening partnership for the opener match against GT on Tuesday.

“We are not sure who opens yet. We have got guys like Marcus Stoinis and Josh Inglis who have done it well in the past as well. So we have to make sure that we get the right combination,” Haddin mentioned that it remains uncertain who will step up to confront the strong bowling lineup of the Gujarat Titans, which is spearheaded by Kagiso Rabada and Mohammad Siraj.

“I think the key focus for us since we’ve got here is to get our players ready for the season. We had a good camp in Dharamsala, where we got to know a lot of our Indian players, and we’re very excited about the talent we have. They’re very athletic, they’re going to be a brave, brave cricket team,” he said.

Commenting on Shreyas  Iyer, Haddin added, I think the culture is driven from our leaders. We have a very driven captain in Shreyas Iyer who has had a lot of success in this format of the game. He has brought everyone together. The staff is on the same page as the players. We are a really tight group, but it’s been led by the standards and the habits that the captain sets,”

Punjab Kings who have undergone major squad and coaching lineup changes are eyeing for their maiden IPL title in the 18 years of tournament history. The team despite having the best batting and bowling lineups, didn’t have a great season so far. For the IPL 2025, the team will be led by Shreyas Iyer who has in hand experience of winning the title in his name as he lifted the trophy last year for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 Season.
