The IPL 2025 Season is coming with a bang, with new shuffling in the team after mega auction 2024, teams are all decked up with new changes. But the main concern for the franchise are the Overseas players who are suffering with injury ahead of IPL 2025 and are about to miss the mega festival of cricket.

The 18th season of the IPL, is set to be played from 22 March and will complete in May 2025. The shortest format has witnessed many thrilling scenes and has provided a dose of entertainment to fans worldwide.

Lockie Ferguson

Ferguson, who has been bought by PBKS for the amount of 2 Crore, can be seen missing the season. Following an injury during the warm-up match against Afghanistan, the player was ruled out for the champions trophy 2025. He was also injured during International League T20 (ILT20) 2025, his recovery scenes are still unknown. Citing his injuries, the player could possibly miss the IPL 2025 Season.

Anrich Nortje

Being bought by defending Champions KKR for the IPL 2025, the player has been suffering a back injury. He went to formal fitness checks before the Champions Trophy and was declared a misfit for the season and citing his fitness, he might not join the purple army for IPL 18th edition.

Josh Hazelwood

Hazelwood missed the Border Gavaskar trophy final following a side strain and a hip injury  no news has been made for his recovery. Being bought up in the mega auction for a purse amount of 12.5 crore rupees, Josh was set to join Royal Challengers Bangalore for the IPL 2025.

Mitchell Marsh

The Australian side player is next on the list of potential missing IPL Players this year. The player was ruled out of the BGT following an injury in the last match. Before ruling out of the BGT, the player was injured during the Big Bash League. Suffering from a lower back injury and was also ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025. It’s been a long time since the player was injured and has not regained his form since then. 

Pat Cummins

Cummins has ruled out from the champions trophy 2025 following his ankle injury. And in the present he is seeking medical treatment for the recovery. For the IPL 2025, this Australian player has been retained by his Franchise and will be part of SRH squad. Although the treatment is going on the player could join the team on a positive side but if things don’t fall in place he could miss this season.

Apart from these players, there is confusion and potential question marks over the participation of Gerald Coetzee (Gujarat Giants, Hamstring injury), Jacob Bethell (RCB, hamstring injury),  Lockie Ferguson (PBKS, hamstring injury), and Mitchell Marsh (LSG, back injury), who are struggling with injuries.
