Mayank Yadav, the pace sensation of IPL 2024 from Lucknow Super Giants, is set to join two more weeks of the 2025 IPL season after he mistakenly kicked his toe to bed and suffered a fresh injury revealed by LSG head coach Justin Langer. According to the initial reports, the 22-year-old was supposed to join LSG in mid-April, but with this fresh injury, he might miss the full month of April IPL 2025.

Notably, Mayank has played just four matches in IPL in 2024 for LSG, but his amazing skills and ability to bowl at 150+ km/h regularly grab attention quickly. In four matches he took 7 wickets with an average of 12.14 and an economy of 6.98. Thanks to this amazing performer, in 2024, LSG retained him for INR 11 crore.

“He kicked his toe on the bed,” Langer reveals Mayank Yadav’s fresh injury

Lucknow Super Giants’s head coach Justin Langer talks about the new injury of Mayank Yadav ahead of the DC vs LSG clash. He said, “Mayank, who everyone was very excited about last year, was going quite well (coming back from a back injury), and he kicked his toe on the bed. He got an infection in his toe. It’s put his rehab back about a week or two weeks. But he’s up and running. We regularly see videos of him bowling. I saw a video of him yesterday. So, hopefully, by the back end of the tournament, Mayank will be up and ready to go for us.”

Langer on LSG’s prime pacers injuries

“Unfortunately, I think Mohsin sustained a small calf injury in his rehab. So, knowing that we had four guys out, we had to make that tough call on Mohsin. We think Avesh Khan will pass his right to play tomorrow morning through the NCA. So, if that’s the case, then he’ll be back sooner rather than later. Akash Deep is up and running and bowling at about 90% now. I believe he’s done his yo-yo test. So, he’s really ticking off all the boxes,” Langer revealed.
