PBKS vs MI match shifted from Dharamshala to Mumbai

According to reports, the 61st match of IPL 2025 between PBKS and MI, originally scheduled to be held at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on May 11, has been shifted to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai due to tensions along the India-Pakistan border.

After the Indian Army conducted “Operation Sindoor” in PoK and Pakistan as a retaliation to the Pahalgam terrorist attack that claimed 25 lives, Punjab Airport has been placed on high alert.

Will Dharamsala host the PBKS vs DC clash?

The 58th match of the IPL 2025, PBKS vs DC, scheduled to be played in Dharamsala on May 8, is currently in doubt due to security concerns. According to the reports, there are fewer chances of the match being played in Dharamsala as it is an evening game. Authorities believe that the floodlights in the evening could pose a risk. The stadium’s lights might be visible from across the border, and this might potentially offer an advantage to the enemy.

What is Operation Sindoor?

“Operation Sindoor” is a military operation conducted by the Indian Army in POK and Pakistan on the morning of May 07. This is a response from India to the Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 people on April 22.

“Altogether, nine (9) sites have been targeted. Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution. These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable. There will be detailed briefing on ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, later today,” the ministry of defence said.
