Ravindra Jadeja Test Hundreds

Ravindra Jadeja once again proved why he’s one of the best all-rounders in modern-day cricket. On Day 5 of the fourth Test at Old Trafford, Manchester, Jadeja played a match-saving knock of 107* and scored an unbeaten 203-run stand with Washington Sundar (101*) to help India secure a thrilling draw against England.

After being 0/2 and training 311 runs in their second innings, India looked set for defeat. But strong performances from KL Rahul(90), Shubman Gill(103), and then the epic stand between Jadeja and Sundar turned the game around. Jadeja’s Test hundred was an example of his consistent innings, and it was his fifth Test century and second in England. He stayed calm and played smart when India needed it the most. Today, we will be looking at Ravindra Jadeja’s Test Hundreds records and how many centuries he has in the game.

His maiden Test hundred came against the West Indies in October 2018, where he remained unbeaten on 100 at Rajkot. He followed it up with a career-best 175* against Sri Lanka in March 2022, a knock that displayed his dominance with the bat.

Jadeja has been particularly effective against England and has scored three of the five centuries against the English. From Edgbaston innings to the Manchester’s Old Trafford he played an important role in India’s innings and especially with the latest 107* of Manchester. His knock played a key role in securing a historic draw and keeping India alive in the series.

Players with 1000+ runs and 30+ wickets in a visiting country(in Tests)

Player Country Visited Runs Scored Wickets Taken Era
Gary Sobers England 1820 62 1950s–1970s
Wilfred Rhodes Australia 1032 42 Early 1900s
Ravindra Jadeja England 1021* 34 2010s–2020s (Ongoing)

With this innings, Jadeja crossed 1000 runs in England and also has more than 30 wickets in the country, which puts him in a very rare group. In 148 years of Test Cricket, only three players have ever achieved this in visiting countries.  Sir Gary Sobers did it in England, Wilfred Rhodes in Australia, and now Ravindra Jadeja has joined the exclusive club with 1021 runs and 34 wickets on English Soil.

Jadeja is the only modern-era cricketer on this list who is more than just a bowler or lower-order batsman who could walk into any team purely on his batting, bowling, or fielding credentials alone. Whether it’s delivering outstanding spells, rescuing India from batting collapses, or producing moments in the field, his contributions speak louder than any hype. In whites, Jadeja isn’t a player, he is alone a once-in-a-generation player, a genuine legend of the game
