The PBKS vs SRH match was a match of records, and one of those records came from the bat of SRH opener Abhishek Sharma. Opening the batting lineup for the Sunrisers, Abhishek brought his IPL highest score and slammed 141 off 55 balls, showcasing a phenomenal batting prowess.

The player celebrated his century in the viral note celebration, where he pulled a note from his pocket and showed it to the fans on the field, thanking them for believing in the team and cheering for them even in the lowest times. The note read, “THIS ONE IS FOR ORANGE ARMY”

Abhishek Clears the Air on Matchday Note

Abhishek opened up about the note mystery and talked with broadcasters, expressing that he felt it was his day today and wrote the letter in the morning of the match, putting an end to Travis Head’s claims of keeping the letter in his pocket for the last 6 matches.

“I wrote it today itself,- because I usually wake up and write something. I got a random thought that if I do something today, that would be for Orange Army. Luckily, today I felt it was my day.” Sharma told the broadcasters.

“If you’ve seen me close enough, I never play anything behind the wicket, but I was still trying few shots because they had a pretty good plan for us outside off. So, I wanted to just invent few shots which I think was very easy on this pitch because of the bounce and the (boundary) size on one side.” the SRH batter added.

Travis Head on Note celebration

While Abhishek said that he wrote the note on the match day morning, his partner on the field, Travis Head, disagreed. He said, “The note has been in the pocket of Abhishek Sharma for 6 games, glad it came out tonight.” Head said after the match.

Abhishek Sharma smashed 141 runs off 55 balls and helped SRH to pull off the second-highest chase in IPL history, and led the team to 2nd win of their 2025 IPL Campaign. Chasing down a target of 246 set by PBKS, SRH registered an 8-wicket win over Punjab and improved their standings with a win at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
