Watch: Vaibhav Suryavanshi scores his maiden IPL century against Gujarat Titans at home

Facing Gujarat Titans the 14 year old Vaibhav Suryanvanshi scored his IPL Maiden century playing with a strike rate of over 250. Vaibhav hit his first fifty in just 17 balls. He achieved this feat with six sixes and four fours. and later continued his explosive knock to his first IPL century.

Rajasthan Royals, who faced Gujarat Titans at their home venue in match 47 of the ongoing Indian Premier League, won the toss. Riyan Parag led the team and opted to field, inviting visitors to bat first. Batting first Gujarat team posted a massive total of 210 on the scoreboard with contributions from Jos Butler, Sai Sudharsan, and Captain Shubman Gill. They’ve scored 82.78% of the total runs today, and this is the first 200+ total at this venue since 2024.

Coming on the chase, Rajasthan Royals opened with Yashasvi and Vaibhav, where Siraj opened the bowling attack for GT. The 14-year-old Suryavanshi delivered a jaw-dropping performance for RR at home, playing an innings that was nothing short of magical. He smashed his maiden IPL Fifty off just 17 balls, making it the fastest fifty of the IPL 2025, surpassing Nicholas Pooran’s fifty.

Vaibhav, opening the innings for RR, brought up a blistering innings and lit up the stadium with his fastest and maiden IPL fifty in just 17 balls. His innings included a flurry of sixes and boundaries, helping RR reach 50 runs in just 3.5 overs — one of their quickest starts ever. Facing GT’s experienced bowler, the youngster responded fearlessly and smashed boundaries and sixes. 

In the fourth over of the match, facing Ishant Sharma, the youngster completely took charge and smashed Ishant for three sixes and a four. Then, following this, the highlight moment unfolded against Washington Sundar, in the fifth over, hitting a four. Vaibhav brought up his maiden IPL fifty in just 17 balls. As soon as he completed his fifty, the RR dugout stood up and applauded, and his senior partner, Jaiswal, gave him a big hug in appreciation.

He continued to play with the same intent and smashed his first IPL Maiden century in just 35 balls. Vaibhav achieved the feat with a six off Rashid Khan’s delivery in the 11th over. He struck 101 off 38 balls with a contribution of 11 sixes and 7 fours.
