Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians in the third match of the IPL 2025 by 4 wickets. After MI put up the target of 156, CSK batters struggled a bit in the middle, but in the end, it was a comfortable win for the home team. The captain of Chennai Super Kings, Ruturaj Gaikwad, won the toss and elected to bowl first against rivals Mumbai Indians at Chepauk. The start of the MI was not good as Khaleel Ahmed removed Rohit Sharma on a four-ball duck and also got Ryan Rickelton on 13 runs. Will Jacks also got out early, but Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma put up a small partnership to stabilize the inning, Noor Ahmed came and took four wickets of Suryakumar, Tilak Varma, Robin Minz, and Naman Dhir to put breaks on MI’s inning. However, Deepak Chahar scored some important 28 runs off 15 balls, including 2 sixes and 2 fours, to bring MI’s total to 155 in 20 overs.

While chasing the 156, Rahul Tripathi got out early to Deepak Chahar on 2 runs. However, Captain Ruturaj comes out to bat and smashes an amazing half-century. He scored 53 runs off just 26 balls. When the game was looking very one-sided, MI’s impact player Vignesh Puthur came and brought some heat to the game with regular wickets of Ruturaj, Shivam Dube, and Deepak Hooda. Will Jacks also roll out his arms and get the wicket of Sam Curran to get the match to a close? However, in the end, Rachin Ravindra stood tall and finished the game for CSK.
