Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced Rajasthan Royals in match 42 of the Indian Premier League 2025. Winning the toss, the visitors invited RCB to bat first. Batting first, Virat Kohli and Phil Salt opened the batting for RCB at their home turf.

Playing for a single franchise for over 18 years, Kohli remains the only player to have featured for a single team and scored 3500 runs at a single venue since the IPL’s inception. Virat Kohli has been a true run-machine at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium. He has played 107 matches at this iconic venue, the RCB star has accumulated a staggering 3501* runs at an impressive average of 39. 

Known for his aggressive play, Kohli has smashed 279 fours and 130 sixes here. Despite five ducks, his consistency is evident with 4 centuries and 25 fifties making him one of the most dominant batters at his home ground in IPL history. Kohli reached the milestone in the 42 match of the IPL 2025 and hitting the 3500* Individually, the 36-year old is the only player with 3500 runs in T20 cricket at a single venue.

Virat Kohli reached the milestone of 3500 T20 runs with consecutive boundaries off Jofra Archer in the third over, signaling another big innings in the making. With four half-centuries already in this IPL season, Kohli is in top form and could be on track to claim the Orange Cap for a second straight year if his consistency continues.
