Umran Malik Joins KKR for Rehab and Return-to-Cricket Program

KKR: Umran Malik has joined the squad in Kolkata to continue his rehab and “return to cricket” programme with KKR for the remainder of the season.

KKR secured the services of Umran Malik for ₹75 lakhs in the 2025 IPL mega auction after being released by Sunrisers Hyderabad. He captured attention and limelight with his pace and fiery spell in earlier IPL seasons. Umran has managed to play in just 26 matches since his IPL debut in 2021, but then he missed the matches due to injuries.

He’s not joining as an official playing member of the squad, but will work with the team and support staff to get back to his best! Welcome to the family, Umran. This development comes just ahead of KKR’s high-stakes clash against Punjab Kings on April 26 at Eden Gardens, and fans are hopeful that working closely with the support staff and teammates will help Umran find his rhythm again.
