Sunrisers’ explosive opener Travis Head’s arrival for the rest of the IPL 2025 is delayed as the player has tested positive for COVID and is likely to miss the next game against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday. Head Coach Daniel Vettori provided an update regarding the late arrival of the player on Sunday. Coach said that he will arrive on Monday morning, and then it will depend on his health if he will play the next two matches or not. With three league stage matches remaining for this season, Travis is sure to miss the next match, but his participation in the next match will totally depend on his health.

“Travis is coming in tomorrow morning, he was delayed. He actually had COVID, so he couldn’t travel, so he’ll get in tomorrow morning and we’ll assess how he is after that,” Vettori told reporters in the press conference.

The player’s arrival confirmation is sure, but it’s still unknown where the player got infected. After the IPL was suspended, Travis Head and captain Pat Cummins returned to Australia, with uncertainty surrounding their comeback, especially with the World Test Championship final against South Africa on the horizon. However, a few days later, it was confirmed that both Head and Cummins would rejoin the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad for the remaining fixtures.

The last year finalists have already been eliminated from the race of the playoffs. The team has struggled this season and could only manage 3 wins from 11 matches. They will now face LSG at the Ekana stadium on Monday and will look to end the season on a positive note. SRH will play its last league stage match on May 25 and conclude the season against Kolkata Knight Riders in New Delhi.
