SRH vs PBKS 2025 Highlights: Abhishek Sharma’s blazing century powers record chase of 246 against Punjab

Thanks to the maiden century of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head’s aggressive fifty, Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down 247 in just 18.3 overs against Punjab Kings in match no. 27 of the IPL 2025 at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium Hyderabad. They defeated PBKS by 8 wickets to move up to the 8th position in the points table with two victories in six matches.

While batting first, Punjab Kings put up the huge total of 245 in 20 overs, thanks to 82 runs off 36 balls from captain Shreyas Iyer and attacking innings from Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimram Singh, and Marcus Stoinis. However, SRH openers went all guns blazing and made the match one-sided. Abhishek Sharma scored 141 runs off 55 balls, while Travis Head smashed 66 off 37 balls.

PBKS’s uncapped openers, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, give them a flying start. Arya scored 36 runs off 13 balls before Harshal Patel got him on a slower one. Prabhsimran also got out after the power play on 42 runs off 23 balls.

After two wickets, Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Wadher built up a good partnership, but Ishan Malinga got Wadhera on 27. However, Iyer continued his attack and smashed 82 runs off just 36 balls, including 6 sixes and 6 fours. With the finishing touches of Marcus Stoinis, the PBKS put up a total of 245 in 20 overs.

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma gave the flying start to the home team, Sunrisers Hyderabad. Both batters dominated the PBKS bowlers right from the start and almost made this huge run chase a one-sided encounter.

Travis Head scored 66 runs off just 37 balls before getting out to Yuzvendra Chahal. Abhishek Sharma scored his maiden hundred in just 40 balls. He scored 141 runs off 55 balls, including 14 fours and 10 sixes. At the end, Heinrich Klassen finished the match with some boundaries and completed the chase in just 18.3 overs.
