The ongoing bilateral clash between the men in green and KIWIS hasn’t been great for the visitors. Earlier, they suffered a disappointing defeat in the Bilateral T20Is series and now are on the same track. Amidst these situations, the tensions remain high for the team, as they have now been fined for the slow over rate against the KIWIS for the 2nd ODI.

The team has been fined for a slow over-rate offense for their second game in a row after they were found one over short in the second ODI. The players were fined 5% of their match fees after captain Mohammad Rizwan pleaded guilty to the offence. Jeff Crowe of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the penalty on the visiting side for their slow over rate offence. The team was found short of one over of the dedicated time frame in their 2nd ODI, and taking into consideration they were fined under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct.

Bowler Exceeds Overs Quota for the second consecutive time

This is the second time when the Pakistan bowlers exceeded the given time frame limit for over quota delivery. First, they were found guilty of slower over rate in the first ODI against New Zealand in Napier and now have fallen short of the time limit in the second ODI.

The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Michael Gough and Wayne Knights, along with third umpire Paul Reiffel and fourth umpire Chris Brown. Skipper Rizwan pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the sanction, eliminating the need for a formal hearing. Accepting the penalty, the team has been fined 5% of their match fees under the code of conduct article 2.22.

Moving on in the series after the fine penalty, the team will be playing for pride in the third ODI of the ongoing bilateral clash. First, Pakistan lost the T20Is series and now has lost the starting two ODIs. Moving on to the last game, the visitors will be eyeing a win and end the tournament on a respectable note.
