Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Kolkata Knight Riders: Both teams preview

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

RCB are peaking at this time in this IPL season. With 8 wins in 11 games, Rajat Patidar led side is riding high on winning momentum and confidence. Currently sitting on the number 2 spot with 16 points and a healthy net run rate of +0.482, KKR have turned their campaign into the most thrilling. Their recent streak of wins tell that they are in red hot form and have secured back-to back four victories with the recent one against CSK in a close contest.

Heading into this clash, RCB will look to get a win in their next match and be in the race to continue winning and stretch their win streak ultimately qualifying into the playoffs. A win in this match against KKR will help team to lead all other teams in the playoffs and can help them become the first team to be qualified for the playoffs of the IPL 2025.

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR find themselves in a tight spot as they head into a clash against RCB, having won just 5 of their 11 matches this season. With just 11 points and a concerning net rate, their hopes of playoffs are hanging in between. Despite strong wins and early dominance against KKR and RR, their recent form has dipped sharply with continuous losses, including the most recent one being 2 Wickets defeat to CSK. Rahane lead team is now under pressure to deliver outstanding performance. A win here could revive their playoff hopes, while another loss could all but end their campaign. Kolkata’s playoff hopes are slipping, and with current form, they must deliver a complete team effort to stay in contention against a strong RCB side.

Pitch Report

Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Kolkata Knight Riders- The 58th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is set to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium pitch in Bengaluru is traditionally considered to be batsman-friendly. The short boundaries and flat pitch make it easy to hit long shots, resulting in generally high-scoring matches. However, fast bowlers might find some swing and seam movement at the start of an innings. As the game progresses, the challenge increases for them. The presence of dew, especially in the second innings, makes it difficult for bowlers to grip the ball, causing it to slip from their hands.
