Punjab and Delhi share a point each as the PBKS vs DC match will not be replayed: Reports

The match 58 of the Indian Premier League was abandoned due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan in the HPCA Stadium on May 8 and later that day IPL 2025 was suspended for a week. With the abandoned match it was likely that both the teams would share a point but there were reports that the IPL 2025 will resume with the abandoned match between the two.

However with the new development around the game and new reports, the game between the two teams have been called off and now the teams have been awarded one point each. The IPL 2025 will now be resumed from a match between RCB and LSG on May 16 or May 17.

PBKS vs DC cancelled, teams share points

Notably, the match between the two teams was called off mid-way on May 8 at the HPCA ground in Dharamshala because of the increasing border tensions between India and Pakistan. But with the ceasefire being announced recently, it was expected that the two teams would continue with their unfinished business as the IPL Resumes after suspension. However, now it’s very unlikely that the PBKS vs DC match will be replayed. Both teams will share one point each, making it a total of 16 points for PBKS and 14 points for DC. With the shared points, PBKS now sits in the third spot, while Delhi Capitals sit in the fifth spot.

IPL 2025 Re-Schedule

The tournament will now resume on May 16 and 17, according to the reports, and four venues have been finalised for the remainder of the IPL. With 16 matches left, BCCI is looking to wind up the tournament at the same time as it was, but the air around the same is yet to be clear. As far as what is officially known, BCCI has finalised four venues for the remainder of the season, which are Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Lucknow. Along with this,s it has also announced that no matches will now be played at the Dharamsala Ground.
