Aniket Verma, the 23-year-old batter of Sunrisers Hyderabad, smashed his first-ever IPL fifty in just his third match against Delhi Capitals on March 30. After SRH lost four early wickets in Visakhapatnam, the right-handed batter from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, scored 74 runs off just 41 balls in a counterattack to bring SRH to a decent total of 163 in 20 overs.

Aniket Verma is a 23-year-old right-handed batter bought by SRH for 30 lakh in the IPL 2025 mega-auction. Born on 5 February 2002 in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, he had not played a single senior-level game for his state when he was bought by the franchise.
The middle-order batter rose to prominence when he smashed an unbeaten 101 off 75 balls, including six fours and eight sixes, against Karnataka while playing for MP in the Under-23 One Day Tournament in December 2024.
In the first three matches, Aniket Verma scored 117 runs with an average of 39.00 and an amazing strike rate of 205.25, including a half-century against Delhi Capitals. Aniket got to play three balls in his debut in the IPL against the Rajasthan Royals, where he smashed a six and got out on 7 runs off 3 balls, and in the second game, the 23-year-old scored 36 runs off just 13 balls, including five sixes, with a strike rate of 276.92.
Finally, he scored his first half-century in the league against Delhi Capitals at Visakhapatnam, that too in a pressure situation when the team lost key wickets at the top. He scored 74 runs off just 41 balls to bring SRH to a decent total of 163 in 20 overs.
