Rajasthan Royals faced off Lucknow Super Giants in the 36th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match took place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, on April 20. But what stunned all was the debut of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who came in place of injured Sanju Samson as an impact player.
Making his IPL debut after a long wait this season, Vaibhav finally made his debut against LSG. He is just 14 years old and is the youngest player to play in the history of the tournament. Facing Shardul Thakur in the first over of the RR’s innings, Vaibhav delivered an incredible moment of brilliance and hit it for a six on his debut ball.

The moment of brilliance unfolded in the first over of the RR innings, when Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened for the Royals. Facing fourth delivery from Thakur, the 14-year-old stepped in his very first IPL match and hit an absolutely stunning six! It’s a massive shot, showing off his raw talent and potential.
Thakur, the bowler, delivered a good length ball around off stump, typically a delivery that should be played with caution. But Suryavanshi showed no fear. Instead of playing it in the usual way, he positioned himself leg-side, sending it soaring high over the cover fielders and all the way for a maximum. The shot was so clean and powerful that it left everyone in awe.
