In the 22nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Punjab Kings are playing against Chennai Super Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh. Winning the toss, PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran opened for PBKS, whereas Khaleel Ahmed opened the bowling attack for CSK.

The opening batter Priyansh Arya started explosively and smashed his maiden half century after a lifeline by Khaleel Ahmed on the first over, second delivery. After being handed a lifeline, Arya struck impressively and played back-to-back boundaries, achieving his IPL maiden fifty in just 19 balls.

Priyansh Arya opened the batting spell smashing six against Khaleel Ahmed delivery in the first over, with this feat Arya not only joined Virat Kohli’s record but also brought impressive innings to viewers. Although he could have been dismissed for the second ball, the catch was missed.

Exploding on the field, then Priyansh not just achieved his IPL maiden fifty but also got his IPL maiden Century earning him a major breakthrough for his personal record and team’s innings. He reached his maiden fifty in just 19 balls which is the joint second fifty against CSK in IPL and later he reached his century in just 39 balls making it the joint fourth fastest century in history of the Indian Premier League.

He started with aggressive intent and continued his intent throughout the innings, hitting the breathtaking IPL century with a blistering 103 not out off just 41 deliveries. Playing with a strike rate of 251.22, he smashed a total of 7 fours and 9 sixes.

At the time of writing, Priyansh has gone back to the pavilion, and PBKS is at 170/7. Though the player might have gone, but have provided the team a much-needed strong position.
