TNPL-Tamil Nadu Premier League is a twenty-twenty domestic league which has gained popularity in India in recent times. Started in the year 2016, this domestic league is organized annually by TNCA. Having completed 8 editions, the league is set to inaugurate its new season in 2025 from 5 June 2025 to 6th July 2025.
Played in a round robin format followed by playoffs, the league features a competition between 8 domestic franchises, all battling for a single trophy. Over a month, these teams engage in thrilling T20 cricketing action, captivating fans across the nation. Since its debut in 2015, the league has not only delivered top-tier entertainment but also provided a platform for local talent to showcase their skill and earn a future in professional cricket.

Tamil Nadu Premier League 2025: Playoffs
The league stage of the TNPL 2025 is set to conclude on June 29, and the playoff of the 9th edition is scheduled to take place on July 1, 2025, at the NPR College Ground, Dindigul. The playoffs will include a Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, followed by a final match, which are scheduled for July 1, July 2, July 4, and July 6, respectively. The top two teams from the league phase play against each other in the first qualifier match, with the winner progressing to the final. The loser would play against the winner of an eliminator match between the third and fourth-place teams from the league phase play in the second qualifier. The winner of this match would play the winner of the first qualifier for the title.
TNPL 2025 Start Date
The ninth edition, TNPL 2025 will start on June 5 and will continue for a month with the final scheduled on July 6. A total of eight franchises will take part in the domestic league and the top four placed on the points table will move forward to the playoffs for the 2025 season. Winner of the playoffs then goes against one another to earn the coveted trophy in their names for the TNPL 2025 Season.
