Massive Heart Attack Confirmed!
Tamim who was playing for the Mohammedan Sporting Club against Shinepukur Cricket Club complained about a pain in his chest and soon was in a very discomforting position on the field. This incident folded short after the toss, during the first innings of the 50th over match. He was rushed to the hospital and now is in medical care.
Initially, a helicopter was arranged to fly him out of the stadium on an urgent basis but it wasn’t possible and he was taken to the nearby Fazilatunnesa Hospital according to match referee Debabrata Paul.
“He underwent initial checks at a local hospital, where mild heart issues were suspected. Efforts were made to transport him to Dhaka, but on the way to the helipad, he experienced severe chest pain and had to be rushed back. Medical reports later confirmed it was a massive heart attack,” said Dr Debashish Chowdhury, chief physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
“It is a difficult time for all of us. He is currently under observation, and the medical team is doing everything possible for his recovery,” Chowdhury added.
The player’s family has been informed and is on their way to Savar to be with him. We hope it just turns out to be a normal visit and the player returns to the field healthy soon.
