In a world where celebrity relationships often become fuel for endless speculation, actress Esha Gupta has finally addressed the long-standing rumors linking her to Indian Cricketer Hardik Pandya. Speaking candidly in a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, the Bollywood star cleared the air with honesty and grace and put an end to years of whispers with a powerful statement, “There was no drama or bitterness,” she added. “It just wasn’t meant to be.”
“Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don’t think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months. We were at that ‘maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t’ stage. It ended before we even reached the dating stage. So it wasn’t dating-dating. We met once or twice, that’s it. So yeah, as I said, it was a couple of months and then it ended,” Esha revealed further.
Esha Gupta on Hardik’s Controversial Past
During the conversation in the interview, Esha Gupta also touched upon the time when Hardik Pandya made headlines for his controversial remarks on Koffee with Karan in 2019. Although she had called out his comments at the time, Esha explained that she wasn’t personally affected by the situation, as they were no longer in touch by then, “That part didn’t affect me, because we had already stopped talking by then,” she said.
When the famous Koffee with Karan episode dropped Esha was amongst the few celebrities who called out the misogynistic tone. Later she didn’t add much to it, “They were already going through enough. What good would it do if I jumped in with more criticism?” she said, adding that she had matured emotionally and preferred not to dwell on the past.
Talking more on the relationship, when asked why the two couldn’t make it work, Esha said that the connection and compatibility were missing. She said she seeks grounded, meaningful relationships away from the public spotlight, something that perhaps clashed with Pandya’s high-profile public life.
Esha Gupta is as of now was last seen in Ek Badnaam Aashram 3 Part 2 alongside Bobby Deol and also played DCP Laxmi Rathi in One Day: Justice Delivered. As per rumors, there is news that she might join the cast of Hera Pheri 3 but still, an official statement or announcement is yet to be made public.
