The Indian Premier League, which was suspended midway for a week due to escalating tensions between the neighbouring nations India and Pakistan, is set to resume from May 17, and the final of the series will be played in March. The BCCI, which met on May 12, has confirmed that the league will resume from Saturday with a clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders.
A total of 17 matches will be played across the six venues, with the final of the 18th edition on June 3. Earlier, there were reports that the IPL will begin with the PBKS vs DC match, which was suspended mid-way at HPCA, but now it’s clear that the league will begin in a new style. The schedule and Venue with dates are yet to be made live. “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is pleased to announce the resumption of the TATA IPL 2025. After extensive consultations with government and security agencies, and with all the key stakeholders, the Board has decided to proceed with the remainder of the season. A total of 17 matches will be played across 6 venues, starting May 17, 2025, and culminating in the final on June 3, 2025. The revised schedule includes two double-headers, which will be played on two Sundays.” said BCCI
