After weeks of speculation and debates, the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) has finally announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. Set to be played in the United Arab Emirates from September 9 to 28, the tournament will follow the T2O format, making it an important part of the preparation for the T20 World Cup 2026. For the India Asia Cup 2025 squad, Suryakumar Yadav has been named as India’s captain. Known for his explosive batting and consistency in T20 cricket, SKY will lead the side, while Shubman Gill has been appointed as vice-captain. India, the defending champions, are placed in Group A and will look to extend their dominance and defend their title.

The selectors have made some bold choices this year. Sanju Samson has been named as the first-wicketkeeper, with Jitesh Sharma included as backup. Notably, senior players like Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul missed out due to injuries and form concerns. In the bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah will make a strong return alongside Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana, giving India a potent pace attack. Spin option for the India Asia Cup Squad includes Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy.
India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir will be eager to continue his successful run after guiding the team to a Champions Trophy victory earlier this year. The Asia Cup is expected to be an intense tournament with the India vs Pakistan clash and also emerging teams’ matches like Sri Lanka and Afghanistan posing serious challenges.
