Arjun Tendulkar gets engaged to childhood friend Saaniya Chandok

Arjun Tendulkar, the 25-year-old son of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, has taken a major step in his personal life. The young cricketer is now engaged to Saaniya Chandok, his childhood friend and the granddaughter of prominent businessman Ravi Ghai.

The engagement was a private affair, attended only by close family members and a few friends. Both families chose to keep the event intimate, without grand public celebrations. The occasion marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Tendulkars and the Ghai Family, and also begins a new personal chapter in the cricketer’s life.

Who is Saaniya Chandok?

Saaniya Chandok comes from one of Mumbai’s most anticipated and respected business families. Her grandfather, Ravi Ghai, is the chairman of Graviss Hospitality Ltd, which owns the Intercontinental Marine Drive hotel and the popular low-calorie ice-cream brand Brooklyn Creamery. Saaniya is a long-time childhood friend of Arjun and is also an entrepreneur, being an animal lover. She is the founder of Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP, a luxury grooming service for pets, and is also a certified veterinary technician. Her father has shared a close relationship with Sachin Tendulkar, which meant Arjun and Saaniya have known each other since they were young.

Saaniya is known to have a reserved social media presence with a private social media profile. Her relationship with Arjun has reportedly been going on for some time, with the two often spotted together at private gatherings.

Arju, meanwhile, continues to build his cricketing career. A left-arm fast bowling all-rounder, he began playing domestic cricket for Mumbai in the 2020/21 season before moving to Goa in 2022. In first-class cricket, he has scored 532 runs, including a century, and also taken 37 wickets. In list A Matches, he has claimed 25 wickets, while in T20s, he has picked 27 wickets and also scored quick runs in the lower order. He also made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians in 2023, playing five matches across two seasons.
