Winning the toss is always a 50-50 chance, but sometimes, even the law of averages doesn’t seem to apply when a captain keeps losing tosses continuously for a long time. India loses the most consecutive, 14 tosses from 19 November 2023. The Netherlands lost 11 while England, the USA, the West Indies, and Australia lost 9 tosses in a row, respectively.

Rohit Sharma 3rd in losing most consecutive tosses in ODIs

India captain Rohit Sharma is 3rd in the list of losing the most tosses in a row in ODIs, as he lost the toss against Australia on March 4 in the 1st semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. From 19 November 2023, in the Cricket World Cup 2019 Final, Rohit lost 11 tosses in a row against different teams.
