Know Why: Rinku Singh received special jersey from Skipper Ajinkya Rahane for the KKR vs SRH IPL match

Match 15 of the Indian Premier League is underway at the Eden Gardens Kolkata. The match is scheduled between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Both the teams have struggled in the season and have won only one out of the three match outings so far.

Rinku Singh, who has been a champ for the KKR in the last season, was awarded a special honor. The team awarded Rinku with a special jersey at their home ground before the start of the match. Winning the toss, SRH opted to bowl and asked the defending champions to come on the batting side.

Why was Rinku awarded with a special jersey?

Ajinkya Rahane, the skipper of KKR awarded Rinku Singh with a special jersey before the start of the match. Rinku was facilitated with this special honor to mark his 50th Inning playing for Kolkata. Singh is playing his 50th IPL match for KKR and to celebrate his innings, the team has decided to award him with a ’50’ number jersey.

Rinku Singh started his IPL Career with the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2018, and has played 4 matches in IPL 2018, 5 in 2019, 1 in 2020, and sat on the bench in IPL 2021. Rinku Singh made a stellar performance in IPL 2023, where he scored a total of 474 runs with an average of almost 60 and a strike rate of 150. Being part of the KKR team this season, Rinku is set to make an impact yet, and KKR fans are expecting an impactful inning from his bat to make his 50th Inning memorable.
