Kolkata Knight Riders are ready to face Chennai Super Kings for one last time during the league stage at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday. With preparations on its peak, KKR will be donned up in a new avatar, and will be seen wearing a special jersey for the crucial home match. In Fact the players were seen in different colors of jersey in the net practice itself.

Kolkata is all set to celebrate the Shahoshi Rani initiative, a novel initiative to upskill women in the underserved communities. As a part of their commitment to empowering the community and celebrating everyday superheroes, KKR will bring their ongoing Shahoshi Rani initiative to the stage of IPL 2205. When KKR plays against CSK at Eden Gardens on May 7, they will highlight the ‘Shahoshi Ranis’—brave women who stand for strength, change, and inclusion in sports. As part of the initiative, 40 Shahoshi Ranis will attend KKR’s practice session, where they will witness the team’s preparations, interact with players and coaching staff, and engage with franchise co-owner Juhi Chawla, who will personally meet these inspiring women.

To further amplify the initiative beyond the field, KKR Practice jersey will also carry the Shahoshi Rani logo on the back and to add more personal touch and recognition, each player and member of the staff will also don the names of each Shahoshi Rani beneath the logo. This is done to symbolize a bond between the team and the women they are honoring.

Speaking about the initiative, Juhi Chawla, Co-Owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, said, “Shahoshi Rani is more than just a campaign, it’s a celebration of real courage. These women are an inspiration, and we are honored to share our platform with them. We hope their stories move others as much as they’ve moved us.’ The moments of the interaction will be filmed and will be shared across digital platforms to spotlight the Ranis’ spirits and strength to the global audience.
