IPL 2025: Pakistani Cricketer Mohammad Amir confirms his Availability for IPL

Amidst the Pakistani Controversy of urging other cricket boards across the world to stop sending their players to the IPL, as Indian Players do not travel to other countries’ leagues, Pakistani Cricketer Mohammad Amir is eyeing an IPL Contract in IPL 2026.

Mohammad Amir, Pakistani Pacer, said that he will be eligible for IPL 2026, and if opportunity knocks on his door, he would love to explore the same.

“Next year tak meri opportunity ban rahi agar hua to kyu nahi (By next year, I will have the opportunity to play in the IPL and if given the chance then why not). I will play in the IPL,” Mohammad Amir said on show “Haarna Mana Hai.”

How could he play after the Ban on Pakistani Players in IPL?

Mohammed Amir could qualify for playing in the IPL as his wife is a UK Citizen, and Amir has also applied for a UK Passport. This would allow the Pacer to have a chance to play if he gets a UK stamp on his name.

If eligible, then he would not be the only player to play in the IPL he would join Azhar Mahmood, who has also played in the IPL 2015 from the sides of the Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings in the year 2012-13.

Pakistan Cricket and IPL History

Pakistani cricketers were once part of the Indian Cricketing Festival. Pakistani players shined in the inaugural season of 2008, but political differences between the countries led to their ban from IPL 2009 onward.
