IPL 2025: BCCI calls for an all Captains Meet before Season Opener Match

BCCI has called all the Franchise captains for a meeting ahead of the season opener match on 22 March 2025. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 20 March 2025, and will take place at the headquarters of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), at noon.

According to official mail sent to franchises, all captains along with managers of the franchises have been asked to be present at the meeting. The meeting would be a pre-season meeting and is more of a briefing kind of meeting which will go on for an hour. During this time the teams will be informed about the new rules, regulations, and match conditions along with new changes for the upcoming season. After the briefing for the teams, all team captains and managers will move to the Taj Hotel for sponsor activities.

Captains at BCCI for Pre-season meeting

The BCCI meeting programme will be a four hour long programme which first will have captains meet for IPL Briefing about new rules and conditions before commencement of the 18th season. Following it, sponsor activities will take place at the TAJ hotel. Moving on from here the meeting would end with a conventional photoshoot ritual.
This time the old ritual of the photoshoot is changed a little bit, unlike the previous edition, this time the photoshoot will take place in Mumbai at the BCCI headquarters. In the previous edition the photoshoot with captains took place at the city with the opener match. The change indicated that there may be something more significant than the usual appraisal of the rules.

IPL 2025 Captains

All teams have announced their leaders for the season, with the most recent being Axar Patel for the Delhi Capitals. The other nine are Hardik Pandya (MI), Pat Cummins (SRH), Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK), Rajat Patidar (RCB), Rishabh Pant (LSG), Shreyas Iyer (PBKS), Sanju Samson (RR), Ajinkya Rahane (KKR), and Shubman Gill (GT).

IPL 2025: Opener Match

The IPL 2025 opener match will be played at the Eden Garden on 22 March 2025 between the defending champions KKR and RCB. Before the opener match the fans will also witness a grand IPL opening ceremony which has a line up of top B Town Celebs and Top Music Artists.
