Lucknow Super Giants are facing Delhi Capitals at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow in the 40th Group stage match. Winning the toss, the visitors opted to field first and invited LSG to bat first.
The match turned interesting when Mitchell Starc dismissed Nicholas Pooran right after Aiden Markram’s dismissal. At that point, LSG was in a strong position, having lost just one wicket and looking to speed up the scoring. Pooran had just come in and hit two boundaries. He was looking confident and dangerous, but what happened next shocked everyone. Mitchell Starc came in the 12th over and dismissed the’ innings of Nicholas.

Mitchell Starc who played an important role in last match win for the team with his death over bowling, came in attack today and dismissed the opponent’s fiery batter Nicholas Pooran who was just setting in. The attack unfolded in the 12th over.
Starc bowled a slower short ball by rolling his fingers over it, Pooran who anticipated it correctly attempted a pull shot but ended up losing his wicket. Pooran expected a quick bouncer but due to slow pace, he mistimed the shot and ended up dragging the ball onto his stumps with an inside edge.
It was a smart move of pace from Mitchell, catching Pooran completely. The dismissal was a huge loss for Lucknow Super Giants as Pooran is known for his explosive hitting in the middle overs. Dismissing him, Starc celebrated the wicket with a roar and rightly so, as this was the fourth time he dismissed Nicholas.
At the time of writing, LSG is playing at 124/4 with Ayush Badoni and David Miller on the field.
