Watch, Delhi Capitals’ top order collapse here

Delhi Capitals had a poor start in their run chase, and they lost their top three batters, Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Abishek Porel, while playing similar types of shots. All three players were caught similarly when they tried to play big aerial shots and make an impact early in the Powerplay of the DC innings.

In an attempt to make an early impact, all three tried to hit big shots but failed to time them properly and lost wickets to RCB fielders. DC first lost Faf du Plessis, who mistimed a short to mid-off,  Fraser-McGurk followed with a wild swing that took a thick edge and was caught by the keeper. Then Porel, who looked like he was settling in, tried to pull a short ball but ended up skying it behind the stumps, giving the wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma an easy catch.

Earlier Starting strong, RCB was riding high with fiery batting from Phil Salt, the duo built a decent total without losing any wickets in the initial innings. The form didn’t last long and RCB lost its first wicket of Phil Salt over a mistimed run between the wickets. And then kept losing wickets till Tim David came to build the innings. He contributed 37 with just 20 balls and helped RCB post a decent 163 score on the board.

At the time of writing, Delhi Capitals are in deep trouble with their main batting order back in the pavilion are struggling to build a strong partnership with 52-3.
