Some bonds in cricket go beyond runs and records, and the bond between AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli is a perfect example. Ahead of the highly anticipated IPL 2025 Final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru(RCB) and Punjab Kings, fans were treated to a heartwarming moment as the iconic duo reunited at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
As RCB geared up for their biggest game of the season, AB de Villiers, the South African maestro and long-time teammate of Virat Kohli, made a special appearance in the RCB Camp. Cameras captured the warming moment as the two hugged and shared a few words during the warm-up session.

AB de Villiers, who formed one of the most formidable partnerships in IPL history with Kohli, had earlier promised to attend the final and support his former team if they play in the final this season. True to his word, he not only visited the squad but also sent a heartfelt message to Kohli: “Go out and enjoy… put a smile on your face. I’ll watching you. Bring that trophy home”
Together, the duo played 159 matches for RCB, sharing magical on-field moments and an unbreakable off-field bond. While De Villiers retired in 2021, the memories he created with Kohli continue to live in the hearts of RCB fans. With both RCB and PBKS eyeing their maiden title, this reunion brought back a wave of nostalgia and beliefs that perhaps this year could finally be RCB’s year.
