Virat Kohli, who made his intent clear, took on Jasprit Bumrah with a statement six over deep midwicket, followed by a flurry of stylish boundaries. Kohli hit another fifty against MI and made it his Eighth 50+ score at Wankhede in 22 T20 matches.
Kohli reached the milestone in the 9th over of RCBs innings against a delivery by Vignesh Puthur. Vignesh bowled a slow and high full delivery on the leg side, Kohli quickly got down on one knee and played it for a powerful slog sweep shot. The ball flew high and over the cow corner and travelled 80 meters before bringing up Virat’s fifty. With that shot, Kohli completed his half century in just 29 balls.

Kohli’s this fifty wasn’t a mere stat it was a statement, a blend of fineness mixed with aggression. Bringing this fifty, Kohli gave his team a much needed start and put on a strong foundation for RCB. Alongside Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal added his own fiery innings and contributed 3 sixes in his 37 off 22. The duo built a powerful 91-run partnership for the second wicket. At the time of writing, RCB reached 98/2 in just 9.4 runs.
