Jasprit Bumrah, a star pacer for the Mumbai Indians, IPL comeback seems to get more delayed as per the new reports. Bumrah, who is missing from the playing XI of MI, has suffered a back injury in BGT, and then onwards the star has missed the Champions Trophy, and now has missed the initial three IPL clashes for his franchise, Mumbai Indians.

As per the new TOI Reports, Bumrah is clinically fit, but BCCI is not ready to take any risk with the speedster and hasn’t given him the green light for the IPL. The player has resumed bowling in the nets but is not able to deliver with his full intensity. Monitoring his bowling conditions, the BCCI medical team is in no hurry to give him clarification to bowl until he gets fully fit. This is done as a precautionary measure for the player and to avoid any long-term repercussions, the most prominent being the risk of a stress fracture.

‘A Bit More Serious Injury than expected’ – Reports on Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah, who got injured in the fifth test match against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, is under medical examinations at the NCA and has started bowling in the practice sessions, but is yet to recover fully.

A BCCI source told TOI, “Bumrah’s injury is a bit serious, and the medical panel doesn’t want him to suffer another fracture. Even the bowler is careful,” he said. “Bumrah has started bowling at the NCA, but it could take time before he returns to full swing. There is no fixed timeline of his return but the pacer hopes to get back by mid-April,”

Mahela Jayawardene admitted that Jasprit Bumrah’s absence is a significant setback.“He just started that progress. We have to wait and see what their feedback is on him. At the moment, everything is going well but obviously, it is on a day-to-day basis, the progress. He is in good spirits and hopefully, he can join the team sooner,” the ex-Sri Lankan skipper stated.

Looking at the bowler’s health conditions, he would be out of the playing XI for the next few Clashes, and if the injury sustains like before, he could not be part of the England squad, setting another setback for the Indian team.
