IPL starting Saturday 22 March with the KKR vs RCB clash, the official list of the commentary panel was revealed on Friday and Irfan Pathan regular face of the Commentary was missing from the list. Pathan was a mainstream commentator for IPL 2024 and the past many seasons but has been snubbed from IPL 2025 after reports from many cricketers for carrying a personal agenda against players.
Personal Bias nature accusations against Irfan
As per different reports many cricketers have lodged complaints against the commentator for carrying out a personal bias agenda in the commentary and accusing other players for their performance during the matches.
As per a MyKhel report, “a battery of cricketers complained about his commentary and said that he was bringing in his personal judgment. This didn’t go down well with the cricketers. One of the star players actually blocked him on his phone after hearing the way he was taking about the particular player during the Australian series”.
It’s not the first time that any commentator has been snubbed from a major tournament. Earlier also, Harsha Bhogle and Sanjay Manjrekar were removed from the major tournament and were not provided with commentator duties. Manjrekar was dropped from BCCI’s commentary team for the ODI series against South Africa.
The BCCI was not happy with Pathan’s behavior during interviews and it was a concern for the BCCI. failed to align with the board’s vision and rules he has been moved out of the commentary panel of the IPL 2025. Otherwise, his name would have been there. It’s been happening for the last two years as he carrying his personal agendas against certain players and that didn’t go down well with the system,” a source revealed.
IPL 2025: Irfan Pathan unveils new YouTube Channel
After the official list of commentators from IPL and BCCI board, Pathan has announced his YouTube channel named “SEEDHI BAAT WITH IRFAN PATHAN”. He took it to his social media handle to announce the new YouTube channel and has seeked fans’ love and support towards the new Journey.

Despite the setback, Pathan has received a wave of support from his followers. Within hours of launching his YouTube channel, he gained over 1,000 subscribers, showing that his voice still holds value among cricket fans.
